A Typical Chinese New Year 2016 in Singapore

Greetings readers! I'm finally back with a new blog post after several months of being busy with school and other activities. My apologies for not updating my blog frequently. In this post, I will be sharing my experience during Chinese New Year, which I found easier to blog about compared to my Secondary 3 camp due to its shorter duration. I hope to blog about my camp soon, provided I still have a clear memory of it. This blog post will not be very lengthy as my CNY was not very eventful.

Chinese New Year fell on 8/2/16, and I only visited two places that day. In the morning, I went to Bugis and in the afternoon, I went to my cousin's house for CNY. I woke up early at 8am+ and headed to the temple in Bugis. Every year, my family visits the temple to pray on the first day of CNY, but I usually do not enter the temple as I am afraid that the ash from the joss stick would burn me. I am a free thinker and go to both church and temple, just a bit of extra information for you guys!

Some unglams with my brother while waiting at the coffee shop heh

I spent a few hours in Bugis before heading to my cousin's house for the rest of the day. It was initially awkward as I hadn't seen my cousin in a year, and our relationship had drifted apart. However, I was happy that Chinese New Year this year helped us reconnect. We had lunch together and then spent some time chatting and using our phones in the house before I decided to head to my cousin's older brother's room. While there, I suggested to JY that we take some outfit of the day (OOTD) pictures, and we spent quite some time doing so. Unfortunately, it started raining heavily, so we took shelter until it stopped and then returned to the house.

Some pictures we took and my OOTD for 初一 heh
Three of us spent our time in JY's room chatting and using our phones until dinnertime. We ended up having steamboat for both lunch and dinner due to the excess ingredients they bought, making an effort to finish everything. After dinner, we switched to the master room when we discovered the air conditioner in JY's room was leaking. Two more guys arrived later on, and although it was awkward at first, we managed to break the ice by playing poker cards together. This helped us ease the tension and allowed me to make a new friend. We eventually called it a night, knowing we'd all be meeting up again the following day.

On the second day, I visited Stella's house and then my parent's friend's house before heading to a rich friend's house. The house was massive, but to our disappointment, there was no food available. The portions and ingredients for the steamboat and noodles were insufficient, leaving us with only a small bowl of noodles in the afternoon. We starved until dinnertime, where we had steamboat again, which wasn't very appetizing as we were already bored of it. We spent the day playing poker cards, taking OOTD photos, and lounging around until we headed home early to prepare for school the following day.

By the third day(last day which i celebrated) of CNY, school has already started so i had my school and then my ASP (supplementary) then after my CCA, i headed to tuition and only managed to reach home after 7.30pm.
My cousins and stella arrived at my house very early so they waited long hours for me to get home. All of us just stayed in my brother's room and the boys continued playing DOTA 2 and i couldnt play league as my computer was outside in the living room and my living room was packed like sardines with visitors. We just stayed in the room then went for dinner (steamboat again) in my living room and back to my brothers room all the way until they go home at 12am + okay day ends here but wait no i rushed my homework after they left ya and the next day i was like sleep deprived but meh still gotta study.
P.S DAY 3 NO OOTD MY OOTD IS MY SCHOOL UNIFORM HAHAHHA

Actually, i have already come to the end of my CNY blog and yes i have already told yall it was going to be short as i didnt go many places during CNY. And ya, thats about it HAHAHA, for the rest for the 4 more days i just continued my daily basis (school and blablbalblablabla super boring and tiring) Many of you also suggested to have a shorter blog so i reduced the length. I am very busy nowadays with school and studies especially now that my common test 1 is nearing #superstressed. I barely have enough time to go out and play or hangout with my friends because it would be late by the time i reach home from school everyday and i have activites legit everyday omg im so stressed rn but still have to type the blog okies hehe. So this blog is really short with lots of pictures of me? HAHAHAH but anyways, i collected quite a number of angpaos - red packets (hehe) so i hope all of you(chinese) collected manymany ang paos too! And i also hope that all of you enjoyed your CNY 2016 and let's make a good year ahead!
